Commuting

With cities constantly expanding and real estate within them becoming more and more expensive, many people are opting to commute to large centres like Toronto. Some will shave a little off of their home price while still living near train or bus lines, like with Pickering real estate, while others will opt to save more by living somewhere like Kitchener and commuting by car every day. If you're exploring the option of commuting, here are some tips and facts that could help you decide if it is the right lifestyle for you.

A survey conducted by Stats Canada showed that on a scale of 1-5 thirty percent of people asked rated their morning and evening commute as a one or two. But, on the other side of the scale, sixteen percent of people said that they greatly liked their commuting time and gave it a five score. While on Toronto blogs or when talking to some people that cram themselves onto city buses in the morning might paint a frustrating picture of commuting, there are others who like the time in the car by themselves every day. And there are others still that like to know that they are doing their own little part for the environment by taking public transit instead of getting behind the wheel.

Many people who commute to work every day see it as a necessary evil or something that is more useful than it is annoying. Surveys done in both Canada and the United States show that more people enjoy commuting than they do cleaning the house or grocery shopping. While there are some who can live in luxury condos Toronto, many of us need to sacrifice a couple of hours of our day in order to afford a home with a little more square footage.

There are many different types of commutes out there and there are some that are more likable than others. The most liked form of commuting in riding a bicycle, but that might not be possible for those that are living in Kitchener or London Ontario listings. Next in line are those that commute to work every day using their own vehicle. Those with less than a half hour commute on average do not mind the drive, while only one quarter of the people who drive more than two hours a day like it. The least favorable commute is with public transit. While this is the most convenient, it is also usually crowded during rush hours.

If you're looking at Kitchener homes instead of luxury houses for sale in Toronto you may be surprised at how easy your commute can be into the city. Most people find that they adjust to the new lifestyle in as little as one month.
